First and foremost, your most significant KPIs will always be around your earnings:

- Affiliate link CTR: Indicates how many people click the affiliate links in your content after visiting your page – this could reflect how persuasive your content is in persuading people to click through and/or how well you’re targeting people who are ready to buy.
- The percentage of visitors that depart your website without visiting a second page is known as the bounce rate. If your bounce rates and affiliate link click-through rates are both high, it means you’re sending affiliate traffic to your partners effectively. If your bounce rates are high and your click-through rates are low, it means that consumers are leaving your site and returning to Google (or wherever else they came from).
- Time on page: This metric tells you how long visitors stay on your pages and how interesting your content is.
- Yes, loading times are so crucial that you should keep track of them and analyze how they effect other vital metrics like bounce rates, affiliate link CTRs, time spent on page, and so on.
As soon as possible, determine the KPIs and indicators that are most important to your affiliate marketing strategy. You should do this before you start or, at the very least, before your content starts producing significant amounts of traffic, so you have enough data to make informed judgments when it comes time to optimize for maximum performance.
To begin, optimize your website for speed.
This is the first place to start when you want to maximize your affiliate income, assuming you have the necessary analytics in place to measure how well your website is working.

Even if you don’t utilize CTAs for affiliate links, it’s worth learning how to build them because you’ll need them to increase your email signups.
